The latest in automotive scams is now taking the form of an email offering motorists up to $570.00 per week to have their vehicle wrapped in advertising from a major consumer products company. In the case of this writer, the scam was sent by email with an offer from the  " Perrier Sparkling Water Co"....

The scammers offer to pay you $570 a week for up to 4 weeks for displaying their product on your daily driver by having it vinyl wrapped in a color advertising graphic. They ask for your address and contact info, and will send you a check in advance.

In addition to the check for $570, they additionally include several thousand dollars they ask you to deposit and then forward to the wrap company by bank wire from your PERSONAL account, usually through Western Union or MoneyGram.

Weeks later you will find the "cashiers check" they sent you is no good - and your bank will hold you liable for the wire transfer - costing you thousands of dollars.

The scam involves many well-known companies, but the form is the same. If you receive an email offering to wrap your car - simply delete it. And quickly.
